As a mother of 2 children, I find I'm constantly on the watch for good things for them to eat. Understandably, I'm a little cynical about packaged snacks from the supermarket that claim to be healthy - I try not to get sucked in by the marketing and make sure I read the labels of whatever I buy. The choices are always tough.

I've come to a few conclusions:
If it's low in fat, it's probably high in sugar and/or salt, because something has to make it tasted good so that you'll eat it again.

Moderation, moderation, moderation - I can't stop my kids from wanting to eat biscuits, chocolate or chips, but I can and do, limit the amount they eat of these things.

I've found too that as I'm shopping or making something for them to eat, I have lots of questions
Is low fat really good?
How much salt/sodium is too much in a serve?
How much sugar is an acceptable amount?

So I'm creating this site as an easy to use reference on nutrition - particularly nutrition for kids.
